The Daily Mirror’s ‘Island of Strangers’ series filmed Action Asylum volunteers at The Flower Patch in Stockton-on-Tees.
This is an exciting moment for Action Asylum – national coverage from The Daily Mirror showcasing the real stories of our volunteers and the communities we work alongside. Award winning filmmaker, John Domokos, captured volunteers replanting gardens after repeated vandalism, sharing their stories, and creating community through nature. The film shows what happens when people work together through adversity. “If we come together, the light will shine brighter,” says volunteer Shirley. “We call it the sparkle in Stockton.”
This is Stockton-on-Tees’ story of resilience, told by the volunteers who live it.
